Lenten Evening Prayer will be livestreamed at 5:oo PM each Wednesday during Lent. Evening Prayer, or Vespers, is part of the church’s Liturgy of the Hours, also known as the Divine Office. The two primary hours are Morning Prayer (which takes place upon rising) and Evening Prayer (which takes place as dusk begins to fall). Evening Prayer gives thanks for the day just past and makes an evening sacrifice of praise to God (see Psalm 141:1). Evening Prayer also allows us to confess the mercy of God in our lives. This reflective prayer is composed of psalms, prayers, a reading, and reflection. Be sure to download a worship aid so that you can participate fully in the Liturgy of the Hours.
